Strengthen your ability to identify reporting issues and evaluate compliance with GAAP and GAAS through hands-on review of actual Illinois local government financial statements and auditors’ reports.

Begin with a brief standards update, then work individually and in small, facilitated groups to examine basic financial statements, notes, individual fund statements, and auditors’ reports. Compare findings with peers and discuss reporting challenges with experienced governmental accounting and auditing professionals.

Reports reviewed may include counties, municipalities, townships, school districts, and other special districts.

Professionals who prepare, edit, or review local governmental financial reports, including governmental auditors, audit seniors and managers, engagement reviewers, and government finance professionals.
At least one year of experience preparing, editing, or reviewing governmental financial reports.
