Pdf Summary
This BigMarker Attendee Troubleshooting Guide outlines common access, connection, and audio/video issues for virtual events and how to resolve them, plus instructions for earning CPE credit.

It first highlights system requirements: use an up-to-date browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, IE11 only if webcast mode is enabled, Opera, or supported iOS). Attendees need at least 2 Mbps download/upload to join reliably; slower connections should use webcast mode if available. Sharing microphone/webcam/screen works best at 10 Mbps, and a wired Ethernet connection is recommended for stability. Firewalls/proxies should allow TCP ports 80 and 443 (especially 443). Supported operating systems include current versions of Windows, Mac OS X, and major Linux distributions. Recommended hardware includes a headset to prevent echo, a compatible webcam, and a compatible microphone.

If you can’t enter the event, update your browser and disable or adjust any firewall settings (often requiring IT help). For a “Connection Can’t Be Established” message, verify internet speed, switch to Chrome/Firefox, use Ethernet, try another device, disable extensions that block WebRTC, and check firewall restrictions.

For slow/choppy performance, move closer to the router or use Ethernet, close unused tabs/programs, change networks, restart browser/computer/router, disable extensions, turn off VPNs, switch browsers/devices, and contact your ISP or BigMarker support if needed.

For no audio, accept the audio prompt on entry, check device volume/mute settings, refresh or use an incognito window, restart your computer, or dial in by phone using the provided number, ID, and passcode. If you can’t see presenter videos, refresh or use incognito mode, confirm you meet speed requirements, and ensure firewall ports are open.

CPE is earned by answering random pop-up tracking questions during sessions; you must respond to at least 75% to receive credit. If tracking questions fail, email EducationSupport@icpas.org. The CPE survey is emailed within 48 hours after the event (and also appears on the ICPAS site); completing it leads to issuance of the CPE certificate.
